At the Park

He looks quite angry, and I believe he has the right to be only because I had been following him for about a half hour. I even layed infront of him to get a photo from a different angle and he started hissing at me. I hadn't known tortoises hissed until that day. Later, I climbed a tree following a squirrel, did you know squirrels hiss too?

Words:

I find words really fascinating, the way someone can combine a bunch of different words to express how they are feeling or what they're thinking. I think poems are extremely creative and they can really define the way someone feels. There is a sense of rhythm in poetry, atleast to me there is. The way your mood can change after reading a thin sheet of paper with scribbly letters on it that form words, words that each have their own meaning. It's crazy how one paper holds someone's deepest thoughts and you've just walked into their world for just a moment. You're understanding what they're going through, you're seeing life from their point of view.
Books are a whole different story. While the author might describe what they're feeling through a character's point of view, it's not always so cut and dry. When I write short stories, the main character is always based off me and experiences that I have gone through. The point in using examples from my own life is that I know what it feels like and want the reader to know how the character felt. Also for the reader to know that everyone goes through rough times, we all make mistakes, we all go through break ups, we all forget to do homework once in a while and that there is always someone out there who has it worse than you. I like that the readers can relate to what I'm writing about, because when I read a book I want to feel like I'm inside of it and living the life written on the pages. When reading a good book, I block out reality and go into my own world.
